God's call on our life.

        When God calls us to be Disciples!

When we pick up our cross and follow Jesus The Christ. He calls us to be Disciples and take His gospel to the surrounding communities and ends of the earth to expand His Kingdom and reach the lost and take care of them. We must take care of them not just leave them to their own devices. We are to set up gatherings, mentor them and show them the way. We are our brothers keeper and so it is our responsibility to see that we make Disciples of them to carry on the work of The Kingdom of God. 

No where in scripture do you see where they just spoke to them, got them saved and just left them. There is much training and teaching involved and it requires much patience. We have good examples of Paul traveling to different parts of the world preaching the gospel and teaching and training them and setting up gatherings and making sure there was a Shepherd to care for them and would go back periodically to check on them. It is a lot of responsibility and God never gives us more than we can handle. Our faith is what carries us through with God's grace and power. 

When we take on this responsibility our life is not our own, it belongs to God and others who need us to teach them and show them the way. There will always be times when we will be attacked and persecuted because of our faith but we must stand firm and walk steadfastly in God's plan and faith. He will never leave us nor forsake us nor allow us to be lead astray. He is faithful and just now as He was back then with His Disciples in sending them out. Our faith leads us through persecution and builds our faith even stronger each time.

Make sure you know the cost to be a Disciple because not everyone can handle it. God knows what you can handle and gives you gifts that show His good will. Not everyone is called to be a Disciple. There are so many different aspect to the ministry and it take many different people and gifts to make it work. Be satisfied with where you are at and work it to the best of your ability, God will do the rest. God's news is that you will succeed in what He gives you to do and it will bless others and Him. It is a daily task that we partake of. Read scripture and ask God to show you what it is you need to know daily and gift  and empower you for those tasks. He is faithful.

[Act 14:21-23 KJV] 21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and [to] Iconium, and Antioch,

 22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, [and] exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

 23 And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.
