Receiving God's news into our heart.

         Our hearts can be blocked to God's word.

   I have learned over the years that our hearts can be filled with stuff that will block God's word and not receive it. In scripture He tells us to guard our hearts and what we put into it because it can hinder us from receiving what God has for us and change our attitudes from helping others to feeding our own desires. The things we watch, hear and practise is what goes into our hearts and leaves us empty longing for something else and never being satisfied. The only way we can over come this is by being careful of what we put into our hearts with strict discipline. There is so much bad stuff happening in our world like war, pornography, gambling, adultery, stealing, killing and so much more. 

It's surprising that we can even guard ourselves against all this but we can if we work at it. Look to Jesus and stay close to the body of Christ to help you over come  and benefit from God's blessings and promise for abundant living the right way. 

This is a short post but it has a great impact on how we are living in these days and why so many are not receiving God's promises. Jesus said we must work it out but we do not have to do it alone because we can be a part of His body of believers and followers. Don't hesitate because we do not know if tomorrow will come.
