Why we need to hold our thoughts captive.

                            Our thoughts are ours to control !

   God's word (scripture) tells to take our thoughts captive and keep a sound mind. I have learned through the years that when I allow any  thought in my head that is not good that it will work to change my heart and what I believe in. This is where sin comes in by Satan speaking into our thoughts and trying to deceive us so we sin. 

                                                                  

Even seeing stirs our thoughts and that's also how he tricked Eve into eating the forbidden fruit. He goes directly to our senses and thoughts to deceive us. This is why we have to take every thought captive and see if it is from Satan or our own good thoughts. Anything not good comes from Satan and everything good comes from God.

Being passive and not capturing them and analyzing them we are bound by Satan's deception. God gave us a good and creative mind to bring life and joy. Not to sin. Even in our sleep Satan comes trick and deceive us and put bad thoughts in our minds. We have to be aware of his tactics and schemes and not be deceived by them.

Satan uses our weaknesses against us so we need to know our weaknesses and guard them against him. He steps in in at our weakest moment and works against us utilizing our thoughts. Satan is our enemy. He is not to be trusted. He uses scripture against us but takes it out of God's purpose just as he did with Jesus Christ in the desert. Jesus was at His weakest point in human form and yet captured every thought that came against the word of God. He resisted Satan and Satan left.

                                                                

He tells us to resist evil and it will flee. They have no power or control over us as long as we resist them and use God's word as He intended us to use it. We have power to over come him and his attacks and schemes and to also set others free from captivity and bondage.

It starts with using our mind and thoughts. Controlling them and keeping them and our heart safe. Jesus gave us this power and authority and we need to utilize it for ourselves and others. We can not do anything against other peoples will but if they ask then we have authority to do so. Satan does not have the authority or power to go against our will either unless we give it to him by not using our authority and power to over come him and his attacks against us by being passive to our thoughts and actions.

He is not stronger than you nor has authority over you. He tries to deceive you into thinking he does. But it's all lies he speaks. Take control of your mind and thoughts and your life and live abundantly and enjoy it.

God has already given us what we need. We just need to utilize it also. Study His word and know it.
