God's news daily/ Compassion belongs to the heart!
Compassion is an emotion that resides in our heart. Not our mind. It lets us know that our heart is still loving those who are in pain or who have been hurt etc! Compassion allows us to feel what others are feeling emotionally. If they cry we cry with them, if they mourn we mourn with them and so on. This is an emotion God created in us to feel what others are going through as He did in Jesus.
Love is the main ingredient to feeling compassion. Our heart is where emotions lay and are brought out at specific times when needed. It is our hearts that allow us to love and use emotions. There can be many things that spring forth an emotion but compassion is the greatest of all because without it there is no love or caring heart.
Life has a lot of circumstances that we go through that prick our emotions which cause us joy, pain, hurt, mourning and so on. Yet these emotions are all choices. We allow them to happen or reject them but our heart still feels. Just as God feels for us. A great example of this is when Jesus saw Mary and Martha mourning their brother Lazarus when he died. Jesus's heart mourned as theirs did. He was compassionate towards them.
[Jhn 11:33-35 NIV] 33 When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. 34 "Where have you laid him?" he asked. "Come and see, Lord," they replied. 35 Jesus wept.
In the Body of Jesus Christ we are filled with His compassionate heart and the fruits of His spirit that change our hearts into tender and compassionate hearts.
[Gal 5:22 NIV] 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
We no longer think or feel as one. Our hearts feel and think as Jesus does. So when you see someone mourn know that they are going through pain of loss of a loved one or someone close that love touched. It is this compassion that causes us to act on their behalf doing what we can.
Do not take your emotions for granted because they are their for a cause to help someone else go through what their are experiencing in that time of their emotion. You one day may need them there to understand and be there for you.
