Motivations of the Heart

Who has control of our hearts and influences the beliefs and things we do?

I want to step into this from a personal perspective and experience and not a total Biblical standpoint. Because I know that it needs to be spoken out and shared. Yes to make an influence. A shot of wisdom that's good for the soul (mind). I will not give credits except to God. Because He is the main influence in my life now and how I try to live it.

Why do we fill our hearts with things that we think have value but do not and those things that do have value we sweep to the side? Who is guiding our heart? Who is showing us what we need to fill it? Are we plotting the course for our own life? Or is there other influences directing us? Family, Society, friends, government, heavenly beings or God? In truth, they all are an influence our lives. Whether we want them to or not.

Can we stop the influences in our lives? I wished we could but the influence started when we entered this world as babies. The Dr's or Midwives by giving us our first spanking. to help us breathe. The first influence of pain. They say we cannot remember these things but on the contrary, we can. It is set back in our sub-conscience. It is these influences that are set to play out in our lives by either blessing or cursing us. The things parents say to their children and more. Things we see and hear. All this has an influence on us whether we believe it or not. The culture and heritage you have along with Society play a big role also. Children will retain pretty much how they will live by the age of 5 because of the first influences in their lives.

It would be nice to be able to rewrite the past but it is set. We can, however, change how we live out the rest of our lives when we come to the knowledge and revelation of this. All that people do in this world is brought about by things and people who have influenced them. There are all kinds of influences happening in this world and we have to know who and what they are in order that we may direct the course in our own life. Even though we know that God directs everyone's steps in life. He even says so in Proverbs 16:9 & 20:24.

So we must be alert to those things and people that can influence us and use discretion with it.Because as you get older you can control most of what and who influence you. Don't just take it for granted because when you least expect it, it already has you in its grasp. The best and greatest influence we have and need in our lives is Jesus. There is no better way than He.
