Can You hear God's Voice?

               Hearing God is not hard if you just listen!

   As a child I have heard God speak and show me things. He called out to me by my name. I was scared at first but then realized who it was calling me. I have learned over the years how God speaks verbally to me. I know His voice. There is no denying that. He always speaks peacefully to me. I have never heard anger in His voice nor disappointment. 

There have been times the older I got I could not hear Him because I let the cares of this world distract me and they drowned Him out. I guess we could call it the age of accountability when we hit our teen years and we do not listen to wisdom because we thought we knew it all. I learned to listen quickly because I would get into trouble or have someone break my heart or get hurt. I would sit and listen to older people tell me their stories and how it was for them when I worked as a Orderly in a Rest home in my teens. I learned to keep a sharp ear out and listen in life and that has guided me my life not realizing that God was guiding and speaking until He called out my name again. 

I have been very fortunate in life to have God call out my name three times. Each time it's like I am being awakened and shown what is and what is to come. It was hard for me to understand why it was so easy for me to be distracted and not hear God. He showed me that by worrying about the cares of this world it causes be to neglect my spiritual side where He is talking to me. When I listen to the cares of this world or want things of it I lose hearing and site of God. So God taught me to always listen and seek Him because the things of this world are temporal and not worth anything. I could not take anything with me when I died, not even my body. 

So I have grown older and wiser and I'm spending my time listening and seeking God and doing what He wants me to so. God uses our name audibly when He needs to get our attention. I know this is scriptural for I have looked it up in quite a few different places in scripture and each time He spoke some one's name to get their attention and He still does today. Yes we can hear Him in His word (scripture) but we can also hear Him by seeing what is happens around us and His creation which we are a part of. We were designed to see and hear Him and know Him. 

This is God's great news daily to the world. Listen for He is talking to you and showing you things if you would just pay attention. Anyone can hear and see Him if they would just pay attention and leave the cares of the world aside. The only reason you would not be able to hear is because you will not listen and well even when we do not want to listen He will get our attention whether we want Him to or not. If you ever make a covenant with God rest assured that that covenant will be fulfilled with you dragging and kicking. Jonah is a great example of this besides my own life.
